Site updates

How your team records what happens on site, and how a week of it becomes the client update your client sees.

Last updated:

Site updates are the running record of what happens on site: short notes from whoever is there, with photos, grouped into weeks. From each week’s updates you can send your client a single curated Client update on their portal.

Posting an update

Anyone whose role can see Site updates can post one, as long as the project is active. Write what happened, add up to 20 photos, and use Tag a phase to tie the update to the timeline phases it belongs to.

Updates sit under their week, running Monday to Sunday, with a Current badge on this week.

Every save is dated now: editing an update from an earlier week moves it into the current week, and there is no way to date an update into a past week.

Only the person who wrote an update can edit it; the author or an administrator can delete one. Under each week you may also see a short AI summary of the week; it is generated on a schedule, so it can lag a day or be missing, and it is only there to read.

Client updates

A Client update is the one week’s summary your client sees under Site Updates on their portal, one per week per project. Building it means choosing: the composer shows that week’s photos under Choose the photos your client will see, and you write a description, or press Generate description to have NavantoAI draft one from the week’s updates; the draft replaces anything already in the box, and is yours to edit before sending.

Photos come from the week’s site updates only. If a photo you want is not in one, add it to a site update for that week first.

Send to client publishes the update to the portal immediately and emails your client; there is no separate publish step. Later edits, and re-sends after a revoke, change what the portal shows without another email, so the email goes once, at the first send.

The email follows the client’s own notification preferences, and editing or re-sending a client update records you as its author.

Revoking

Revoke takes a client update off the portal; your client’s Site Updates page simply stops showing that week. You can send it again later; deleting one is for its author or an administrator, once it is revoked.

Removing a photo from a site update, or deleting the whole update, also takes that photo out of any client update using it. A sent client update left with no photos and no description is revoked automatically, so check the week’s client update after removing photos you had sent.
