Files
Where every file on your projects ends up, why there is no upload button, and how files reach your client.
Last updated:
The Files page is the one place to browse every file across your projects: a folder per project, and inside it a folder for each part of Navanto the file came from — Approvals, Tasks, Drawings, Snagging, Contracts, Posts and Client Portal. Clicking a file opens it, and an approval’s attachments carry an action to open the approval itself.
There is no upload button here, and that is the point: files arrive by being attached to the thing they belong to — a task, an approval, a drawing revision, a snag, the contract, a post — and the Files page is where they all surface. To add a file, attach it where it belongs. Photos on site updates live with the updates themselves rather than here.
Deleting from the Files page is for administrators, with the usual confirm.
Files for your client
The one place you upload directly is the Client Portal Files card on the project’s Client Portal tab, and it is also the only files surface with folders you manage yourself — Upload, New folder, rename and move all live there. Whatever is in that folder is exactly what your client’s Files page shows, and putting a file there is what shares it — there is no separate send step. The full picture is in setting up the client portal.
Managing those files needs the Client portal permission; the Files switch on a role controls this browsing page, and attachments on tasks, drawings and the rest keep working without it.
