VAT-inclusive prices for clients, provisional stage payments, and camera capture on iPhone
- Your client now sees prices with VAT included. The contracts page in the client portal shows every figure inc VAT — the headline totals, each item, and each stage payment — with the total ex VAT kept alongside for the record, and the client’s export PDF matches. This closes a real gap: a client paid the ex-VAT amount of a stage payment because that was the figure on screen. Your own view of the contract is unchanged, and variations and selections stay net-first while the client is still deciding.
- Stage payments can be marked provisional. Tick Provisional beside Paid and the payment carries an amber pill wherever it appears — your view, the client portal, and the portal PDF — so a client knows the figure may still change. The amount is still entered and the schedule still has to sum to the item total. Once the payment is marked paid the marker drops away.
- Mark-up is now margin. The product catalogue’s internal pricing percentage has changed in both name and maths: a 40% margin on a £100 cost now prices at £166.67, where a 40% mark-up gave £140. The red/amber/green bands stay at 20 and 35 and now read as margin, so some products will change colour — a stricter measure of the same thing. Nothing you have priced moves; only the percentage shown against it.
- Take a photo without leaving the iPhone app. Anywhere the app picks photos — the chat composer and the site-update composer — there is now a Take Photo option that opens the camera directly, so nobody on site has to shoot in the camera app and come back to find the shot in their library.
